While the City of Sheffield faces numerous challenges, this campaign is primarily focused on three key areas.

Community Revitalization

For decades, Sheffield has carried an unfair reputation across Northwest Alabama—a reputation shaped more by perception than by the true potential of our city. This campaign is about changing that narrative. We believe in Sheffield’s future, in its people, and in the promise of what we can build together. It’s time to restore pride, opportunity, and respect to our community.

Economic Development

Our campaign is dedicated to driving sustainable economic growth across Sheffield by attracting new businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, and investing in workforce development. By creating quality jobs and expanding opportunities, we aim to ensure that all residents can thrive in a vibrant, resilient local economy.

Infrastructural Restoration

We are committed to rebuilding Sheffield’s foundation—both literally and figuratively. This includes restoring derelict housing, addressing nuisance properties, repairing deficient roadways, and developing environmental solutions. Through smart investment and community partnership, we aim to create a Sheffield that’s built to last.

Meet Dr. Ethan Stokes

Born in Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Ethan Stokes has deep roots in the Shoals area. Though he didn’t grow up here, he has always considered “The Shoals” home—a place that shaped his family’s legacy and inspires his vision for the future.

Dr. Stokes began his academic journey at the University of Alabama, earning a degree in Communication & Information Sciences. Driven by a passion for public service and community impact, he continued his education with a Master’s degree in Sociology from Mississippi State University, focusing on Public Policy and Public Administration. He later returned to the University of Alabama, where he completed his Ph.D. in Communication & Information Sciences.

For seven years, Dr. Stokes taught at the University of Alabama, guiding the next generation of leaders and engaging in research that addresses real-world challenges. Now, he’s ready to bring his experience, education, and heart for service back to the Shoals—committed to revitalizing Sheffield and building a city we can all be proud of.
